Article Entry: You can start teaching kids maths as young as one year of age. Maths isn't just about adding and subtracting. It’s about shapes, sizes, counting, measurement and patterns. If you look around, there are endless opportunities to talk to your preschooler about mathematical concepts. There’s measuring and counting in the kitchen while preparing meals and setting the table; learning about shapes while at the supermarket; identifying patterns while driving; and adding and subtracting opportunities while out walking. In fact, I can't think of a single place where there isn’t something mathematical you can talk about with your child. You just need imagination and enthusiasm. Remember, the key to success with learning is to keep it fun - you'll find your kids little minds will be like sponges.
